Steve started playing drums in his uncle’s function band when he was 15years old. He moved to London in his early twenties and worked in many
of the West End club residencies and for the Mecca Organisation in one
of their resident bands whilst gaining session work for various music,
TV, radio and recording companies.
Forming his own band with his wife Debbie, he worked for over 20 years providing musical backing for touring artistes, cruise lines and summer seasons.
Always striving to become a better player he was fortunate to study with amongst others Bob Armstrong and Kenny Clare. Steve is currently teaching in his Warrington drum studio http://www.stevebyforddrums.com and is enjoying the Steely Don experience.
